Gate - Junction - Juniper - Gate

Me, Rick, JB... way hotter than most Saturday mornings.

Met blog reader Keith at the Junction, he just did the 5-pass Death Ride and that's certainly a lot tougher than STP1D.

Not sure why this picnic area was closed off.

edit: appears to be this...

Las Lomas student, mother die in murder-suicide at Mt. Diablo State Park

WALNUT CREEK — A Walnut Creek woman shot and killed her 16-year-old son and then turned the weapon on herself in a murder-suicide at Mt. Diablo State Park, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said.

The body of Adam Williams, a student at Las Lomas High School, was found Friday night at a park lookout point along with that of his mother, Judith Williams, 51, of Walnut Creek.
Sheriff's Capt. Daniel Terry said investigators found a suicide note at the Walnut Creek home that the mother and son shared. The handgun used in the shootings was registered to Judith Williams, he said.

These ancient churt formations are really interesting.

Wildlife Encounter: Thousands of dragon flies near Juniper

Rick went on to the Summit but I stopped at Juniper. On the way down there were about 30 Cooper Minis coming up. Most of them were right-hand drive, some of them had really unique graphics and ornaments, many of them were bad drivers... not staying in their lane.

After the ride, took DD to Encina to pick up her new bike. 24" wheels and 7sp SRAM. Then we rode bikes to the swimming pool.
